Risperdal Lawsuits

Risperdal (generic name: Risperidone) is an atypical antipsychotic medication manufactured by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. Risperdal was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and adolescents (ages 13 to 17); for the short-term treatment of manic or mixed episodes of bipolar I disorder in adults, children and adolescents (ages 10 to 17); and the treatment of irritability associated with autism in children and adolescents (ages 5 to 16).

Risperdal has been shown to cause increased levels of prolactin, a hormone found in women that stimulate breast tissue to grow during puberty. This increased level of prolactin also stimulates enlarged breast tissue growth in boys and young men, a condition known as gynecomastia. It has been alleged that the manufacturers of Risperdal failed to warn its consumers about this horrific side effect, and the manufacturers illegally marketed Risperdal for use by children prior to being approved by the FDA.

If you or a loved one has developed gynecomastia while taking Risperdal, you may have a claim against the manufacturer. At Lee Murphy Law Firm, our attorneys are committed to holding the manufacturer accountable for their failure to protect individuals from the harm that this medication has caused.

We handle these cases on an individual claims basis, meaning you are not a part of a class action law suit. In handling our claims like this, we are able to represent you as an individual and fight for the injuries that you have personally suffered. Your injuries are not the same as another person’s, nor should they be treated as such.
